Sunday 5:00 Mass

The regular Sunday 5:00 Mass will be dropped at the first of year. Attendance has averaged less than 40. There is no justification for keeping it.

We are considering a monthly Sunday 5:00 Mass in connection with the Family Nights. We will try it in January and evaluate its future.

Classroom Memmorials

I have an artist preparing ink drawings of Saint Joseph the Carpenter, Queen of Vocation, Holy Family, St. Patrick, St. Elizabeth, St. Therese, St. Rita, and St. Francis. The finished oil paintings will be framed with dedication plaques. The cost of the paintings will be approximately $7-8,000 total. When I have the drafts, I'll post them on the bulletin board at the PAC for everyone to review.

Statue

I've priced a 5 foot "bronzed" fiberglass outdoor statue of St. Joseph. Cost is $4040. I've seen a sample at St. Charles High School and it looks like bronze. After five years there is no sign of weather wear. Order time is about 4 months.

Statue would be placed outside PAC main Door.

Improvements

The partition has been installed in the double classroom. The classes using the two sides will now have some privacy.

I have started to work with an artist to do oil paintings of the patron saints of our classrooms. These will be part of the memorial recognizing the donations. We will get smaples to look at. What I am looking for is eight original pieces of traditional yet fresh impressions of the saints. I will get smaples of his work to post in the PAC.

Family Night

Our first Family Night "Saints Party" was a fun evening for adults as well as the youth. Over 50 people participated in the food, games, and walking rosary. The Saints were alive at St. Joseph. It once more proved how versitile the parish Acitivity Center is.

The Knights of Columbus Euchare party was also a hit. There was a lot of talk about doing it monthly. The PAC gives us opportunity for a lot of socials and fun events.
