Recapping the questions
The Religious Education Committee will do a telephone survey concerning classes on Sunday and Wednesday, also length of classes. Please be charitable to them when they call. To make the best decision for the parish we need information.
If there are no classes on Sunday morning, there is no reason for a Mass at the PAC. All Masses will stay in the Church until we reach capacity. If there are classes on Sunday morning, one Mass will be moved to accommodate the children attending.
If all classes are scheduled for Wednesday evenings, we will try to schedule use of the Firehouse classrooms along with our six. Choir practice will be in Carpenter Hall (The main hall). The Library will be available for adults to stay and wait comfortably. We can put two classes of older youth in the Church basement.
We are scheduling a workshop to present alternative religious education programs. While CCD is the core part of our program, we will provide easy to use options for those who can not or choose not to use CCD.

As one of the surveyors with the questions pertaining to the times, etc. for CCD classes, it was pretty amazing and a real eye-opener for me to hear just how strongly (in some cases, even a little hostile) people feel about this subject! There is no right answer to satisfy every family. I would hope that parents will NOT pull their children out of religious education to accomodate sports practice as some indicated to me!
Yes...I too have noticed that some people can tend to be a little hostile in this matter (as well as other matters). As a general note, we have been running into the sports practice thing on Wednesday nights for quite some time. A few of the students just come after practice. They miss part of the class, but they come. I honestly wish, however, that people would not be so hostile, especially when it comes to the Church. I find it immature for some of the people to threaten to leave the church if they don't get their own way about the Mass Schedule and/or CCD Schedule. I tend to just go with the flow. I have my opinions, but if I don't get my own way, I will adjust. What is important is that we are all children of God, we all should want best for our parish community, and be patient. Never stop praying. Amen.
